Each summer, I always create a playlist of songs that I declare will be my "ratchet playlist". Currently, the following songs are on heavy repeat!
Big Ole Freak- Megan Thee Stallion
I am in LOVE with this song by Megan Thee Stallion. This song has gotten so much support by artists such as Trey Songz, Drake and constant streams in clubs and the Radio. In this era of women's empowerment, this video displays nothing but women having fun and Megan is expressing her sexuality through her music.
Freak N You - DJ Khaled ft Lil Wayne & Gunna
This song is my favorite from the entire album. On DJ Khaled's new album "Father of Asahd", he has done it again! Dj Khaled has always has a hit in the summer that'll make you want to shake your---well, you know. But this song right here is THAT SONG! I have been blasting this song all around Atlanta!
Higher - DJ Khaled ft Nipsey Hussle & John Legend
First of all, Rest in Peace Nipsey. Prior to the release of this song, Nipsey Hussle was murdered outside of his store in Los Angeles, California. Although I haven't heard any of Nipsey Hussle's music prior to this song, my heart goes out for his friends and family for the tragedy. Although there may be biases and people believing that there are people that are trying to get clout from his death, this song has a deeper message than many people can comprehend. His life story in this song is definitely one for everyone to sit and listen to. Take in the words and really comprehend what he is saying, don't just clout chase.
Throw Fits- London On Da Track, G-Eazy ft City Girls & Juvenile
This is another song that is going to go wild this summer. Bringing these well known twerk music geniuses together, has definitely shown in this song. City Girls' music has been encouraging every woman to make a bag, and treat these dusty boys how they treat us (but smarter). Juvenile's hit "Back that azz up" has always been a club banger. Lets not forget G-Eazy and his song "No Limit ft Cardi B" was a club banger. He has done it again this summer on this track. These artists have created an ultimate twerk song that is probably going to be in every club playlist.
